Expert Insights on Seoul's Potential

Han I-kyung, who serves as Chair of the Beauty & Wellness Tourism Development Committee and is CEO of Polaris Advisor, shared her perspective on the initiative's significance. "Seoul’s diverse wellness landscape reflects the city’s identity and its potential to lead Asia’s wellness tourism. We look forward to building new global partnerships that connect tradition with innovation."

Ms. Han brings over two decades of international hospitality expertise, having worked with prominent brands such as Marriott, Hilton, and Starwood. Her extensive background also includes roles as an Ambassador of the Global Wellness Institute and an Advisor to the Global Wellness Conference (Synergy), underscoring her deep engagement with the wellness industry.


The Beauty & Wellness Tourism Festival

This significant announcement coincides with the annual Beauty & Wellness Tourism festival, scheduled from October 30 to November 5 in Jung-gu, the historical heart of Seoul. The 2024 edition of Beauty & Wellness Tourism unequivocally demonstrated the initiative's broad appeal and effectiveness. The event successfully engaged 188,354 participants, comprising 93,166 offline attendees and 95,188 online participants. Furthermore, the program achieved a combined promotional reach exceeding 630,000 through extensive domestic and international media coverage, solidifying its standing as a critical component of South Korea’s cross-border healthcare and patient travel strategy.
